Indian Jasmine

Jasmine has originated in Asia. The name comes form Persian meaning “gift of god”. In India and sri Lanka it is used in religious rites. Baskets with jasmine are placed underneath the gods statuettes. Jasmine is also a national flower of Pakistan and the Philippines. The most beautiful scent is at twilight. That is why the pettals are collected at the twilight for production of oil which is used in aromatherapy, massage, dry and sensitive skin care. The oil perfectly soothes irritation, highly moisturizes and strenghtens the skin. The fragrance relieves stress, is antidepressant and aphrodisiac.

The almond is a species of tree native to the Middle East and South Asia. Information on almonds is as old as days before Christ. Almonds yield almond oil which is rich in many natural nutritional substances such as proteins, mineral salts vitamins A,E,D and B. Almond oil has been proven to have a calming effect on skin allergies and inflammation. It has both the ability to soothe as well as treat skin allergies. Almonds have a way of trapping moisture in the skin keeping it moisturized at all times.

Emblica officinalis commonly named ndian gooseberry. It is a major ingredient in most ayurvedic products, rich in vitamine C. Regular use of amla strengthens the hair follicles, stimulates hair growth, keeps dandruff away, straightens your hair, prevents split ends and nourishes your hair. It also prevents premature graying of hair and stops hair loss. Our amla comes from India.

They grow in India and Nepal on the Sapindus Mukorossi, also known as the soaptree. The shells contain up to 15% of natural saponines. They serve to protect the tree from insects, bacteria and fungi. In contact with water, these saponines turn into an odorless, cleansing foam. It acts as a natural and bio-friednly detergent. In traditional Indian medicine the soapnuts are used to treat skin conditions. They are commonly used as a laundry agent and the leftover water may be safely used to water flowers or other plants. Leftover shells can be composted. Soapnut extract when used to wash the hair gives them a softness and a shine and also helps prevent dandruff. This natural shampoo produces copious amounts of foam and may serve as an alternative to the SLS, SLES and ALS detergents. Shampos and natural cosmetics containing soapnuts are ideal for people with allergies, dermatitis or other conditions affecting the hair and scalp.
